I was originally leaning toward a popular platform rack from a well-regarded brand known for their rugged aluminum construction. Great rack, no doubt, but once I started tallying up everything Iâd need for full compatibility with my Tesla Model Y Juniper, the costs added up quickly. A separately sold hitch extender to allow the rack to fold up completely, a side-entry âLâ hitch lock to work around the trailer wiring plug, and a cable lock for the bike itself. I was approaching $600 before a single wheel touched the tray.
The CrossTrack 1 changed the math entirely. Just over $400, no accessory shopping list, ready to go out of the box. More importantly: it delivers. The rack feels rock-solid, not âseems fine in the drivewayâ solid, but âjust completed a 900-mile road trip without a second thoughtâ solid. Not a rattle, not a wobble the entire way.
If youâre on a Model Y Juniper or just donât want to play the compatibility accessory game, the CrossTrack 1 is a genuinely excellent alternative. Highly recommended.
