Is the 70lbs weight limit a suggestion or a max weight limit?
Do not exceed the strict 70 lbs per bike max weight limit.
Is the bike ramp included in the box or is it sold separately?
The bike removable and expandable ramp is included in the box with the Destination E.
Can I put this bike rack on my RV?
The only RV the Destination E is suitable for is a class B motorhome.
Do you need a Bike Adapter for step-through bikes on this bike rack?
No, You would not need a bike adapter for the Destination E. It has frame grabbers that allow you to attach the bike from the seat post, eliminating the need for a bike adapter.
Are there longer straps available for this bike rack?
We have extensions for the straps on the Destination E up on our website at Hollywoodracks.com if you are in need of longer straps. They are listed under STPEXT, you would only need 1 kit for both bikes.
Can I use a bike cover?
No! Bike covers add significant drag and stress to the racks components
How many bikes can this rack carry?
It can carry up to 2 bicycles.
How heavy of a bike can I carry?
The Destination E can carry bikes up to 70lbs
Is this rack expandable?
No, this rack cannot expand to carry more bikes. You can look at the Sport Rider (HR1500) for a rack that can expand from 2 to 4 bikes.
Can I use this rack on an RV or Travel Trailer?
No, this rack is not approved for use on an RV or trailer. It can be used on a Class B RV - think a Sprinter Van or Vanlife application. For RV’s, 5th’s and flat haul use, look at our RV Rider (HR1700).
Where can I store the ramp?
The best spot to store the ramp is in the trunk of the car. We didn’t want to have the ramp attach to the rack somehow as that opens up the possibility of the ramp falling off if not secured properly.
There’s a long rod left after the rack is built. What is that for?
This rod is an extra piece to turn the long removable grabber arm into an attached grabber arm (like the short grabber arm). This is an option some people prefer, so we include the part.
The wheel strap is a little too short, what can I do?
There are 2 positions for the wheel straps on the main support arm, try moving the strap to the other position to see if that works. If the strap is still too short, we do sell an extension kit for the occasionally fat tired bike that may need it.
My car has a 1.25” hitch, do you make a version of the Destination E that fits my car?
No, we only offer the Destination E in a 2” hitch option. We do not recommend a hitch reducer either. If you need a 1.25” rack, look at the Sport Rider (HR1560) or the CrossTrack 1 or 2.
I have an eCargo bike, will it fit?
The Destination E works for bikes with a wheelbase of 50”. If your eCargo bike has a longer wheelbase, take a look at the Sport Rider or RV Rider which can handle bikes with a 60” wheelbase. If your bike is longer than that, it may be too big to carry behind your vehicle.

LED Light Compatibility Issues with some vehicles
Some newer vehicles, including the Ford F-150 with a factory-installed tow package, are not compatible with the LED Bar or other LED trailer lighting systems. This is because the vehicle’s tow package or electrical system has been designed to be used with automotive light bulbs. These light bulbs require more electrical current than LED lights. For these vehicles, the LED Bar will either not function at all or function incorrectly. They may also produce a warning light on your dash that one of your light bulbs is out OR cause your turn signals to flash faster than normal. This is because the vehicle “thinks” there is a bulb out due to the low electrical current of the LED.
These vehicles include:
2016-2023 OEM tow package equipped Ford F-Series trucks, sprinter vans,
Expeditions, Excursions, Explorers, Rangers, Broncos, and Mavericks.
Other vehicles include newer Tesla, BMW, Audi, Volvo, Chevrolet, and GMC with OEM tow packages.
For LED Bar users experiencing dashboard warnings or rapidly flashing turn signals, you need to purchase a 4-pin flat to 7-pin round adapter with a built-in electrical resistor. This adapter mimics automotive bulbs' electrical current, potentially resolving compatibility issues. While we cannot guarantee universal compatibility, it has proven effective in most cases.
