Great bike rack for the price. But it can use a few security improvements.
This was a he perfect rack for our e bikes. It had features the cheap knock offs did not have. For instance I did not want to get down under the rack to tighten a screw to fasten the rack to the hitch. I also wanted it to lock on to the hitch securely. The hooks that hold the bikes down also lock with a key. It is fast and easy to load the heavy bikes when one lifts the front wheel onto the rack first then the back because you don't lift the whole bike and its natural pivot point allows the back of the bike to swing over into its position with little effort. I do suggest one use the red strap as the instructions indicate as it does help anchor the bikes together to the upright post. But rest assured without the strap the bikes will not come off the rack but strapping them does keep them more still and extra secure. Spend the little extra.
I had a production defect in my swing arm. Contacted the company through their warranty process. They stood behind their product and sent me a new one without jumping through hoops.
I am simply amazed at the build quality of this sub $250 bike rack. The attention to detail that is apparent in all the small but important details like the recessed spacers for the head of the thru bolt that holds the bike trays to the hitch assembly inspire confidence that all the “important stuff” is of equally high quality. Great build quality, light weight, simple but functional design all for under $250 - can’t go wrong with this rack!
