Why Can't This Bike Rack Be Used on Travel Trailers?
Travel trailers have a slight side to side motion that's very low frequency (1 to 1-1/2 times per second) that fatigues the steel from which the racks are manufactured. The fatigue first happens at a molecular level, but eventually (several thousands of cycles later) a visible crack will appear. Once the crack has formed, it will enlarge, finally to the point where the rack drops off the vehicle and the rack (and bikes) impact the roadway. This is also a dangerous situation for whoever may be following the trailer on the highway. We have seen 100+ incidents where the consumers/end user has not taken this advice and suffered disastrous results. We've even had phone calls from consumers who said they read that advice (do not use on a trailer) and ignored it, only to discover a tragic end result. So, please don't do it.
Do You Need a Bike Adapter for Step-through Bikes On This Bike Rack?
No, you would not need a bike adapter for the RV Rider. It has frame grabbers that allow you to attach the bike from the seat post, eliminating the need for a bike adapter.
Can I Use the RV Rider On My Truck or SUV?
Yes, you can as long as your vehicle has a class 3, 2” hitch.
Can This Bike Rack Be Mounted On a Front Hitch?
Yes, this is the only bike rack we make that can be mounted on a class 3, 2” front hitch.
Does this rack come with a ramp?
No, there is no ramp option for the RV Rider.
How many bikes can this rack carry?
It can carry up to 2 bicycles.
How heavy of a bike can I carry?
You can carry bikes up to 80lbs with the RV Rider.
Can I use this on a travel trailer?
No, we do not rate this rack for use on a travel trailer. Trailers vibrate at a specific frequency that fatigues metal very quickly and will result in a rack failure.
My bike is a step thru, do I need to use a Bike Adapter with this rack?
No, the RV Rider is designed to grab the frame in a number of places and there is no need to use a Bike Adapter.
What is this bend on my main beam?
That’s supposed to be there - it’s the help with ground clearance for the back of the rack as one drives in and out of driveways and the like. The rack isn’t bent - it’s designed that way.
This bike rack is perfect for our situation. We mounted it on our Jeep Wrangler and towed the Jeep behind our RV this past weekend. Both e-bikes were steady and secure. While it takes some time to set it up correctly the first time, it's a snap to install, and it is very easy to load and unload our bikes. Well worth the cost!!!!

Very solid E-Bike rack. There’s not very many racks you can use on a 5th wheel due to the bouncing a 5th wheel has while in motion. My son followed me and said this rack was solid. I bought this back in November and just now got it put together. This was a very simple assembly and their instruction were excellent some of the best instructions ive ever seen. Very detailed. Highly recommend this on the assembly. Will update after getting bike on their and adjusted.
Outstanding rack. Very sturdy. Great quality parts assembled with precise fit. Instructions were very clear. Carrying 2-Aipas M-Series e-bikes held securely without excess movement while traveling. Jeep will be used as towed vehicle behind motorhome. Review is delayed somewhat due to need for 2nd order for a 7” hitch extension to eliminate conflict with spare tire. Resorted to email support to obtain appropriate solution. Cudos to Jaime De La Cruz for his prompt response on a Friday with links to the appropriate extension. I chose Hollywood Rack extension because it also has threaded hitch pin for secure connections. Would suggest more clarity in guidance within website documentation specific to vehicle applications, especially with rear-mounted spare tires.
I’m on my fourth rack in three years. This Hollywood rack is just so much more stable and comes with so many of the necessary accessories that also make the rack more stable. I haven’t tested it out on our 7000 mile long trip yet, but I feel much more optimistic about this than any of the other racks I’ve already tried on the back of my long 5th wheel.
Did a lot of looking, comparing and finally pulled the lever on this rack for transporting e-bikes on an RV. Jaime in customer service was great. Product shipped same day and arrived 3 days later. Great packing and very impressed with the quality of material and construction. Everything is beefy without feeling bulky. Weld quality and powder coating, superb. This is one sturdy rack. More importantly was the over the top customer service of Rick when informed that my hitch receiver was 2 1/2” and not 2”. He sent out a hitch u bolt that fit within minutes of my conversation. Got it within a day and things are now as they should be.

This is very much a heavy duty rack. Everything is very solid and industrial, but well made and fitted. Instructions paired with Videos excellent. Got it built out and test loaded in a few hours by myself. It's heavy to take off and put on the vehicle, but I can do it solo. Glad I bought it.
I contacted Hollywood Racks about a problem with a 2021 rack. They immediately responded, sending me a questionnaire. I completed it the same day I received it, and Rick responded that day. I was told a new rack would be sent next day. When I inquired about upgrading my old rack, I was given a price. I agreed on the price and it was shipped immediately! This company is serious about their warranty! I had a small part that got bent and contacted them and they had the new part to me within days. I had a bigger problem that happened and they wanted my entire bike rack! I’ve never had anybody do that kind of Warranty before. Very pleased with my experience and I would buy anything this company sells! They’re very courteous and polite on the phone, even though it was a warranty issue.

I haven't unpacked this bike rack yet, but I wanted to say that the customer service with Hollywood Racks was incredible. I bought a different rack based on a miscommunication on whether that rack could be on the front of my truck. After a trip with that rack showed that it shouldn't be on the front of my rig, I contacted Hollywood Racks, asked for help, and they offered to trade my rack for one that could be front mounted. I had to pay to ship the old rack back (which about made up the difference in cost between my lower priced original rack and the new one), but the new rack showed up quickly and I appreciate Hollywood Racks making the effort to fix my problem.
Hi, I purchased this light bar for my RV Rider E Bike rack which I have on my 2023 F-250 with a popup camper in the bed. I was worried that it might not work properly after reading the warnings about it possibly not working properly on newer models. I first tested it with the supplied tester and everything worked fine! Then hooked up the actual light bar and everything seemed to work perfectly. I was doing this by myself, go in back and forth from the cab to the back, and I did see a message on my dash, (forgot the actual message), but pressed the OK button on the steering wheel and it went away. I get similar messages after removing my tailgate to put my popup camper in the bed, and have to do the same thing to get rid of the messages. Hopefully when I take it for a drive it will keep working fine! It was easy to mount it to the rack, and it’s nice that I can flip it down when I lift the bike rack up. It’s nice that you can also strap it to the bike itself!!
My husband and I put it together on our motorhome. We have not had a chance to use it because we wont be taking a rv trip until later. It appears to be everything that they promised.

LED Light Compatibility Issues with some vehicles
Some newer vehicles, including the Ford F-150 with a factory-installed tow package, are not compatible with the LED Bar or other LED trailer lighting systems. This is because the vehicle’s tow package or electrical system has been designed to be used with automotive light bulbs. These light bulbs require more electrical current than LED lights. For these vehicles, the LED Bar will either not function at all or function incorrectly. They may also produce a warning light on your dash that one of your light bulbs is out OR cause your turn signals to flash faster than normal. This is because the vehicle “thinks” there is a bulb out due to the low electrical current of the LED.
These vehicles include:
2016-2023 OEM tow package equipped Ford F-Series trucks, sprinter vans,
Expeditions, Excursions, Explorers, Rangers, Broncos, and Mavericks.
Other vehicles include newer Tesla, BMW, Audi, Volvo, Chevrolet, and GMC with OEM tow packages.
